This is an activity that I put out with our breakfast sometimes. We also have already ground cinnamon because sometimes there isn’t an interest to grate or there isn’t time.

Age: 3-6 years old

Area: Practical Life: Care of Self

Materials:

  • plate
  • mini grater
  • cinnamon sticks

Procedure:

Child takes the cinnamon stick and rubs it on the grater. You can have them try different sides to see what happens. You can have a container or baggie to put the cinnamon stick in when not in use. I also recommend having a plate or something under the grater to catch the cinnamon and make it easier to transfer to their food. Enjoy!
